Apr. 15th, 2009 01:08 pm[Angell is
dontcallmebitch and used with permission from her mun who made a request for a Flack/Angell snuggle. Set before that scene in the last episode. And before you yell at me for doing this when I’m not supposed to be doing things, it was already halfway finished and I had some downtime before class so :P]
He was up before she was, which wasn’t anything new. As much as they both liked to sleep in, Jess was the only one of them who managed to be able to override her internal clock when she wasn’t on call and sleep in. For Don it took a bit more effort to not wake up when his alarm would usually go off, which was why he was up far earlier than he should have been, and Jess was still sleeping next to him.
He was starting to get a bit too comfortable with this. It didn’t happen often, that he had a woman that he was this comfortable being around, that he got this far with, and he was starting to get to the point where he was waiting for the catch to rear it’s ugly head. It happened every time, whether it be in his relationships or his job. He couldn’t have things be smooth sailing for too long, because when they were, things started to go wrong in a big way.
But as he pulled her closer, he really couldn’t bring himself to care.
This was starting to feel like home. He liked that feeling, even if he knew it was going to come with a price, somewhere down the line. He liked that he had someone to come home to, or go home with. He liked not being alone, and for as long as Jess would have him, he wasn’t. He had her, who he just seemed to click and get along so well with, and he needed that in his life.
He felt her stir slightly, shifting to drape an arm across his waist, before mumbling at him. “Go back to sleep.”
“Can’t,” he chuckled slightly, dropping a kiss on the top of her head as he pulled her closer. “I’m already awake.”
Jess sighed again, just relaxing against him and keeping her eyes closed. “Then don’t move.”
“No argument here,” he chuckled, just keeping her close as she settled back into sleep again, and he just held her for a while, trying to keep her as close as possible and just enjoy the moment.
About twenty minutes later, she was asleep again, and he was starting to get a little antsy. He mulled a few things over in his head for a moment, before brushing a kiss against her forehead again, starting to slide out from under her. She made a small noise of protest at the movement, but still didn’t open her eyes.
“Just going to get coffee,” he replied, pulling on his clothes, before pulling the covers up over her some more. “I’ll be right back.”
“Don’t forget the extra shot,” she mumbled, before latching on to one of the pillows in place of him. Flack just smirked at that before turning and heading out the door, happier than he had been in a really long time.

[J1W] Watching

vivo_a_fortiori used by request from her mun. This one you can yell at me for.]
“You know, you’re never going to get anywhere if you just keep staring at it.”
He hadn’t meant to spook her, but he wasn’t going to deny the fact that he had. She started so strongly that there was no way she could really cover that. “Flack!” she said, looking up at him with a slightly sheepish smile. “I didn’t see you there.”
“So I noticed.”
Flack pushed himself off the doorframe as he started to make his way closer to her, craning his neck a bit to try and see what she was looking at. He really didn’t know Morasca that well. She was still pretty new to the squad, and the one time they had actually met, he was pulling a perp off her that probably would have killed her given the chance. That wasn’t exactly conducive to a ‘getting to know you’ conversation, and he wanted to try and rectify that.
It was tracking her down, however, that had been the problem.
After asking around the precinct for a while, he found out that she had headed over to the lab for something, so he figured he’d ‘bump into’ her there. He hadn’t been watching her long, just long enough to try and get a sense of what she was doing. She, in turn, had been watching the evidence for a good five minutes and not really seeming to be getting anywhere. Flack figured he could either offer his input or see if she was the type to be easily distracted. The answer he hadn’t figured out yet.
