Jay had been having a nice, enjoyable night off at a local bar. A few drinks, a few laughs with the bartender. A few more drinks. She was having a good time. So when the crazy lady beside her decided to not only continue knocking into Jay's stool, but also talk so loud Jay couldn't hear herself think - Jay had no problem telling the woman off. Which only led to the woman talking back to her, and Jay retorting and - back and forth as it slowly got louder.
Flack was just getting a drink after work, relaxing after a long day. He was doing his best to ignore the people around him and not get in anyone's way, but as the fight started to escalate between the two women across the room, he started to worry that he was going to have to get involved sooner or later.
Jay really wasn't in the mood. She'd been having a good month or so lately, finally, and she didn't need anyone in her way. Especially the crazy. She glared. "Back the hell off."
The woman's jaw dropped and she glared back. "Who're you talkin' to? You back the hell off." Jay rolled her eyes and moved to stand, to walk off, but slipped into the woman instead. In what could have possibly seemed like a shove. The other woman flipped out and jumped to her feet. Flack's eyes moved over to where the fight had started, watching them carefully, and hoping that it would dissipate all on it's own. He really didn't feel like getting in the middle of a fight tonight, and after a long day at work, if he got slugged (or worse) trying to break these two up, he wouldn't be so inclined to withhold the charges for assaulting an officer.
"What the hell?" The woman shouted. "You push me?" Jay rolled her eyes.
"I didn't push you, crazy."
"The hell you didn't!" The woman gave Jay's arm a shove, to which Jay responded to in a flash, slapping the woman's hand away.
"Don't touch me," Jay snapped.
"Oh boy," Flack grumbled, before swallowing the rest of his drink and starting to push himself to his feet.
